Liberty’s Loves

A bereaved DIPG sibling pen pal program

We are offering a DIPG sibling pen pal program to all bereaved siblings between 2-21 years of age anywhere in the world.

We believe it’s important for bereaved DIPG siblings to foster strong connections to other bereaved DIPG siblings who understand what they have experienced and continue to go through.

All pen pals will receive an age-appropriate pen pal kit including items like stationery, pens, pencils, stickers, envelopes, a few stamps, and maybe even a few surprises!

Siblings are matched using factors such as but not limited to location, age group, age of DIPG sibling when they passed, common interests, gender, birth order, similarities in sibling's DIPG battle, and so forth including any preferences stated in the application. All information is confidential except where needed to facilitate the pen pal connection.

There is no limit to the number of siblings in a family who can sign up to this program, though every sibling may or may not receive their own kit. Teenage pen pals can decline the kit and connect only over email or social media websites.

To ensure the best chance of making a strong connection with a fellow DIPG sibling, siblings must commit to being a pen pal for at least one letter a month for six months, although we recommend for the best experience that each pen pal contacts the other more often.

For Liberty's 11th birthday in August, the only thing we want is donations to the Love for Liberty Arnold-Simon DIPG Foundation to help bereaved pediatric cancer families as well as our local community. Every penny will go directly to funding the foundation’s unique programs. Donate through our fundraiser on Facbook, or you can donate to Love for Liberty Arnold-Simon DIPG Foundation through our donate page. Thanks for your support!
